Mental Health Counseling Intern

Position Summary: A mental health therapy intern provides quality counseling and related services under supervision, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the care and support of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality care and support to clients using evidence-based therapy techniques under the supervision of a licensed therapist.

  • Conduct intake sessions

  • Complete clinical documentations accurately and in a timely manner

  • Observe therapy sessions.

  • Maintain a caseload of clients and assess their individualized needs and goals.

  • Create, maintain, and update individualized treatment plans for each client.

  • Participate in case consultations with supervisors.

  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.

  • ·Refer clients to other healthcare providers when appropriate.  

  • Maintain ethical and professional boundaries.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a graduate program in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and DSM-5 diagnoses.

  • Analytical skills to assess a client’s needs and develop treatment plans.

  • Ability to maintain ethical guidelines and client confidentiality.

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive during client mental health emergencies or crises.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Mental Health Therapist - Associate

Position Summary: An associate mental health therapist has completed their graduate program and provides quality counseling and related services under supervision, contributing to the care and support of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality care and support to clients while following their individualized treatment plan.

  • Maintain a caseload of clients and assess individual needs and goals.

  • Conduct intake assessments and accurately complete clinical documentations in a timely manner.

  • Create, maintain, and update individualized treatment plans for each client.

  • Observe therapy sessions.

  • Participate in case consultations with supervisors.

  • Provide crisis interventions and risk assessments when necessary.

  • Refer clients to other healthcare providers when appropriate.  

  • Maintain ethical and professional boundaries.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

  • Currently on an associate licensure path working toward full licensure.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and DSM-5 diagnoses.

  • Analytical skills to assess a client’s needs and develop treatment plans.

  • Ability to maintain ethical guidelines and client confidentiality.

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive during client mental health emergencies or crises.

Mental Health Therapist - Licensed

Position Summary: Licensed mental health therapists provide quality counseling and related services to clients using evidence-based therapy techniques. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality care and support to clients through evidence-based therapy techniques.

  • Create, maintain, and update individualized treatment plans for clients.

  • Conduct intake and psychological assessments.

  • Complete clinical documentations accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate care with medical providers and other multidisciplinary teams.

  • Provide supervision for interns and associate mental health therapists.

  • Help clients develop skills to continue growth and success beyond therapy.

  • Refer clients to other healthcare providers when necessary.  

  • Maintain ethical and professional boundaries.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

  • Active and unrestricted clinical license valid in Washington state.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and DSM-5 diagnoses.

  • Analytical skills to assess a client’s needs and develop treatment plans.

  • Ability to maintain ethical guidelines and client confidentiality.

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive during client mental health emergencies or crises.
